Cheesy Macaroni / Pasta

A tasty gluten free cheesy macaroni or pasta - serve straight from the pan or heat under the grill with extra cheese for a bake! Use cornflour to make your gluten free cheese sauce with an added twist of dijon or whole grain mustard

 

 

Ingredients
Sauce
500ml of milk
2 tbsp cornflour

350g Pasta / Macaroni

1 - 2tsp wholegrain or dijon mustard
6 spring onions
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp dried oregana
100g Guyere or cheddar, grated
Method

1. Cook the gluten free pasta / macaroni in slightly salted boiling water

2. Meanwhile, make the cheese sauce

  1. Mix the cornflour with a little of the milk to form a smooth paste, continue to add more of the milk until completely absorbed. Pour into a saucepan and heat (medium / high heat) and stir into a smooth sauce
  2. Add the dijon mustard or whole grain mustard and stir, then the spring onion, cheese, herbs and blackpepper

3. Pour over the pasta - serve OR transfer into an oven proof dish and top with cheese and bake for 10-15 mins until golden.
