Happy Kids With Healthy Bodies

Basic Gluten Free Biscuits

A super recipe for cutting and shaping gluten free biscuits with a few alternatives to add more interest

 

 

Ingredients
250g butter , softened
140g caster sugar
1 egg yolk
2 tsp vanilla essence
300g plain flour
1/2 tsp xanthan gum

Method

Mix the butter and the sugar until creamy, add the egg yolks and vanilla and mix again, add the flour and combine, use your hands to form a dough ball

Roll the dough on a floured surface and use your favourite cutters to make shapes

Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden, allow to cool and decorate

 

Alternatives

=======

Add 50g chocolate chips to the dough

OR

Cut our a biscuit and then use a smaller cutter to make a hole, add a boiled sweet to the centre and bake A large circle with a small star cut out looks great!

OR

Replace 50g of the total flour with cocoa powder to make chocolate biscuits
