Though papier mache is French for 'chewed paper', no munching needs to be done for this wheat free recipe
Gluten Free Plain Flour
The ratio is 3 parts water to 1 part flour
Put the flour into a large bowl and add the warm water, stir thoroughly.
The ratio here is two parts glue and one part warm water
Pour the glue into a large bowl and mix the warm water in slowly until a smooth paste is formed
Rip paper (newspaper,craft paper etc) into strips approx 15cm x 5cm and dip into mix and stick to your chose shape!
Newspaper is great for this kids' activity but it is worth covering the final layer or two of the shape with white paper. You then dont need to worry about the newspaper text and pictures showing through the final painted shape
A gluten free alternative for playdough. Easy to make, choose your colour, add even an essential oil such as lavendar
60g corn starch / flour
2 tsp cream of tarter
1 tsp cooking oil
drop of food coloring of your choice
drop of scented oil e.g. Lavendar oil
Add all the ingredients into a saucepan.
Cook and stir on low/medium heat for 3 minutes until mixture forms a ball.
Allow to cool before using - dont worry if it is a little sticky this will become less sticky as it cools
Store in an air tight container (will last a few weeks)
